The Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) is developing the world's foremost center for multidisciplinary education and development of operational capabilities in the areas of infrastructure assurance and security. The CIAS is a part of The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Our vision is to become the leader in the advancement of state and community cyber security capabilities and collaboration. The CIAS has successfully integrated efforts from academia, government and private industry. The result has been a dynamic team dedicated to infrastructure assurance, research and education.

Competitions: As creators of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition and Panoply programs, the CIAS has been a recognized leader in cybersecurity competitions since 2005. The CIAS also designs, builds and supplies the technology and virtual machines used in the world's largest cyber defense competition, the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition component of the Air Force Association's CyberPatriot program.
Training: The CIAS provides a number of security training courses that can be taught both at our facilities or our client's facilities.

The most popular game Cyber Threat Defender (CTD), targeting students in middle- and high-schools, is a multi-player collectible card game designed to teach essential cybersecurity information and strategies. The Cyber Threat Series of cybersecurity tabletop card games include Cyber Threat Guardian (grades K-2) and Cyber Threat Protector (grades 3-5). ISAO SO: The CIAS leads the ISAO Standards Organization (SO), a non-governmental organization, established in October 1, 2015. Our mission is to improve the nation's cybersecurity posture by identifying standards and guidelines for robust and effective information sharing and analysis related to cybersecurity risks, incidents and best practices.
NCPC: The CIAS is one of five universities in the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC). The mission of the NCPC is to provide research-based, cybersecurity-related training, exercises and technical assistance to local jurisdictions, counties, states and the private sector.
